First days of school

Caden and Calli started school on Monday!!! Caden went to 2nd grade and Calli to Kindergarten... Cienna starts her last year of preschool next week. Time really does go just a little too fast. I look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when I will be able to spend a little quiet time doing what I want, but I am also pretty sad that all of my kids are big enough to be in school.
Our school had its open house on Monday morning so that the parents and kids could meet the teachers and see the classrooms before school started. I took Calli to her classroom first. We met her teacher, Mrs. Hinkley and walked around the room to see where everything went. Calli is one confident little girl and wanted me to just leave her then and there. Everyone should be so proud that I kept all tears back until I left the school (I don't think Calli would have still been confident if I left her while I was crying). She has the rest of the week off for testing, but will go back on Monday for the rest of the year.
Next we met Caden's teacher. I just have to say that I LOVE this lady!!! From the minute I met her, I knew she was going to be an amazing teacher for Caden. Mrs. Wilkinson has a sports theme in her class with each student 'playing a part of the field'... ex. the grounds keeper is in charge of cleaning the classroom floors before everyone goes home, the peanut vendor is in charge of taking the lunch count, etc. It was so fun to see all of that time and effort she put into her kids and classroom. After Caden and Calli started school, my friends and I decided to have a first day of school breakfast. We decided that moms needed to celebrate that they had let their children live through the whole summer. It was a nice breakfast but it took forever... so sad to say, but I was late to pick Calli up for her first day of big kid school. I felt soooooooo bad!!! I wasn't even the last one to get there and I was only 2 minutes late, but it was still really sad for me. On the other hand, Calli was so brave and just sat where she was told until I came and grabbed her hand.

Here is Calli's cool hair do for her first day of school... I got it from a hair blog. :D
Today, Caden rode the bus for the first time. He got on to go to school ok. Now I a totally freaked out about him getting on the bus to get home. I hope he remembers the bus number and that he is supposed to ride it today. Oh the joys of kids growing up. I will let you all know how it turned out.
